Exhibition: “Clean Girls - Sophia Süßmilch and Cathrin Hoffmann”
The exhibition brings together two internationally recognized artistic positions that place the human body at the center of their practice and address central questions of identity, society, and change from different, deliberately contrasting perspectives. The exhibition at the Stadtgalerie Villa Dessauer illuminates the body as a multifaceted medium of expression – vulnerable, malleable, and shaped by social as well as technological influences. Here, two artistic positions come together: While Sophia Süßmilch questions social taboos with humor, provocation, and radicality, staging physicality as a place of pleasure, pain, and resistance, Cathrin Hoffmann deals with the human form in the tension between reality and virtuality. Her works address issues of alienation, digitization, and hybrid body images between physical presence and digital dissolution. In interplay, a striking dialogue emerges that addresses current themes such as body politics, gender issues, and digital transformation. In painting, sculpture, and installation, the human body thus becomes a mirror of our present and its upheavals. Info: 0951 87-1152Link to the exhibition
