Exhibition "COLLECTING JEANS THINGS"
The exhibition "Collecting Jeans Things" at the Levi-Strauss Museum in Buttenheim is dedicated to extraordinary everyday objects made from the material denim. Items made from jean fabric, objects covered with denim, or products featuring jean motifs are showcased – from quirky to familiar. Between fashion, design, pop culture, and everyday culture, the exhibits tell stories about trends, identity, consumption, and societal developments. For over 20 years, the artist Katharina Hohmann and the designer Katharina Tietze, along with supporters from around the world, have been collecting these special "jeans things". The collection, which now comprises more than 450 objects, offers diverse perspectives on art, design, and our everyday culture. In the exhibition, the objects are thematically re-staged: Unusual arrangements emerge based on concepts such as drinking, reading, or bathing, supplemented by installations and video collages. This makes it visible how versatile jeans remain as a cultural symbol to this day. Info: 09545 442602 More information
