The Golden Pot

The young student Anselmus does not quite find his place in the world, he always dances out of line, his career path seems to be guided by no good star. An unfortunate misstep into the apple basket of a market woman leaves him without his last money. Now penniless, he reflects on his misfortune under a elderberry tree, when two blue eyes shine at him from the elderberry tree. Thus begins a strange love triangle for Anselmus with the bourgeois Veronika and the wonderful Serpentina, who together with her father, the archivist Lindhorst, introduces him to the world of poetry, where he is trained as a writer and ultimately leaves the bourgeois world behind. Hoffmann's fairy tale from the new, romantic time (1814) is lightly adapted and dramatically presented for the first time on a puppet stage.
