Odeon Cinema Bamberg | Program & Today

The Odeon Cinema Bamberg is a program cinema with a café located at Luitpoldstraße 25 and is one of the addresses in Bamberg that not only showcases film culture but consciously stages it. Today, there are 2 auditoriums with a total of 305 seats available, along with a continuously updated program featuring arthouse films, family movies, children's cinema, original versions, and special series. This is why search queries like odeon cinema bamberg, odeon cinema bamberg program, odeon cinema program today, and odeon cinema today fit so well with this venue: Those who end up here are not just looking for the nearest screening location but a cinema with character, history, and recognizable identity. The combination of a historic city center location, a café in the foyer, summer operations in the courtyard, and clearly structured online information makes the Odeon a place where planning and experience come together. For visitors, this is practical; for the brand, it is ideal: The cinema conveys reliability, program diversity, and cultural identity in a single appearance. Odeon Cinema Bamberg Program Today and Monthly Program

The greatest search interest surrounding the Odeon Cinema Bamberg clearly revolves around the program. The official website offers a dedicated section for downloading the monthly program, supplemented by an archive of previous editions. Users can not only view the current program but also specifically switch between All Films, Only Odeon, and Only Lichtspiel. This structure is particularly strong for today's search intent because it directly reflects the everyday life of cinema visitors: Those who want to go spontaneously today do not need extensive research but a quick answer to the question of what is currently showing. The current program pages also display the Odeon separately as Odeon 1 and Odeon 2, allowing for immediate comprehension of showtimes, auditorium assignments, and film selections. This is precisely where the strength of the site lies for both SEO and user-friendliness: The content caters to both broad terms like odeon cinema program and precise search queries like odeon cinema program today or odeon cinema bamberg program. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/mob/programm-download/))

Content-wise, the Odeon focuses on a curated spectrum that one expects from a true program cinema. The website filters current titles by drama, comedy, children, documentary, music, historical, road movie, animation, action, thriller, and romance. Additionally, there are special formats like Guest in the Cinema, Live in the Cinema, previews, festivals, In the Bars, DVD shop, senior cinema, current children's films, learning cinema, and birthday. This mix is important because it clearly distinguishes the cinema from the anonymous multiplex: At the Odeon, it is not just about big release titles but about selection, attitude, and target groups. Those searching for odeon cinema today expect exactly this mix of schedule, cultural classification, and easy orientation. Therefore, the monthly program is not just a service function but a core element of brand perception. It shows that the Odeon does not play arbitrarily but programs consciously, and that Bamberg has a place for film fans where film is treated not as a byproduct but as the main focus. Tickets, Reservations, and Prices at Odeon Cinema Bamberg

Even with tickets and reservations, the Odeon Cinema Bamberg is pleasantly straightforward. The official reservation page explicitly states that there are no seat tickets and that reserved seats are held until 20 minutes before the start of the show. The Odeon can be reached by phone at 0951/27024; online, it is sufficient to select the desired film and click on the time in the weekly table, after which a reservation number is issued. For guests, this means: few hurdles, short paths, and a planning process that sounds more like a cinema evening than bureaucratic procedures. The fact that the venue always opens half an hour before the first show starts makes spontaneous visits even easier. For users searching for odeon cinema today or odeon cinema program today, this logic is crucial because it covers not only the film but also the practical process. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/reservierung/))

The pricing structure is also clear, making it friendly for both search engines and visitors. According to the current page, Mondays are cinema days with a price of 8.50 euros for everyone, while from Tuesday to Thursday, adults pay 9.50 euros, and from Friday to Sunday, as well as on holidays, the price is 10.50 euros. Lower prices apply for children's screenings and for children up to and including 12 years in the regular program; additionally, there are discounts for students and pupils on Thursdays, as well as a 10-ticket card for frequent visitors. There are also surcharges for films longer than 130 minutes, tiered up to 190 minutes, and a group discount starting from 15 people. This shows that the Odeon responds not only culturally but also economically to various forms of visits: from spontaneous single films to planned family or group outings. For the search intent tickets, this is particularly relevant because people usually have three questions before going to the cinema: What is showing, how much does it cost, and how do I secure my seat? The Odeon answers all three points on a well-readable page. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/mob/eintrittspreise/))

Directions, Location, and Parking at Luitpoldstraße

The Odeon Cinema Bamberg is located at Luitpoldstraße 25 in the heart of Bamberg, making it a location that is easily identifiable for visitors from the city and beyond. In the program publications of the venue, the Geyerswörth underground garage is mentioned as a parking option; additionally, it is stated in the Bamberg information that parking is available on Luitpoldstraße. This is important in practice because especially for a city center cinema, the question of parking is among the most common search queries and often precedes the actual film selection. This explains why terms like directions, parking, and parking space are so central to the local relevance of the venue. Those planning the cinema as an evening destination want to quickly know how well a visit can be combined with driving, evening appointments, and city center location. The Odeon meets this expectation with a clearly communicated address and a well-known parking option in the nearby vicinity. ([kinoheld.de](https://www.kinoheld.de/kino/bamberg/odeon-kino/location?appView=1))

The central location also supports the typical program cinema feeling: first arriving, then spending time in the café in the foyer, and finally enjoying the film. The Bamberg tourism profile describes exactly this interplay of a spacious foyer and the popular Mediterranean courtyard in summer. In a central urban quarter, this character is a real advantage because it elevates the cinema visit from a mere appointment to a small evening out in the city. Those searching for odeon cinema bamberg program usually want to see not only the start time of a film but also keep the entire process in view: directions, parking, possible walks through the city center, pre-drink in the foyer, and then the screening. The Odeon is well-positioned urbanistically for this and does not appear as an isolated functional building but as a place that opens up to the city. This is part of its lasting appeal. History of the Odeon Cinema in Bamberg

The history of the Odeon Cinema Bamberg dates back to the time of the Central Palace, which opened in 1956 during the heyday of cinema. The official house history vividly describes the film theater: 450 upholstered seats, dark box seating, a champagne-colored auditorium, a wine-red curtain, and a ten-meter-wide screen. These are not decorative asides but indications that the place was intended from the beginning as a representative cinema theater. In 1960, the venue was renamed City Palace due to a change of ownership. Even this early development shows how the cinema changed with the media and urban conditions of the post-war period. Today, those visiting the Odeon are not sitting in just any room but in a place with a developed cinema biography. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/odeon/))

In the 1970s, the venue responded to economic changes by dividing the large auditorium and establishing a small third auditorium in the foyer; this led to the creation of the City Cinema Center with a stronger mainstream focus. In 2001, it closed its doors to make way for the competition of multiplex cinemas. However, the story did not end there: On January 31, 2002, the cinema reopened under the classic name ODEON, with exposed ceilings, visible structural cinema elements, and a spacious foyer with a café area created from the former small auditorium 3. Since 2006, the Mediterranean courtyard has also been open in summer. This development is culturally and historically very interesting because it shows how a cinema responded to the retreat of the classic cinema house not with resignation but with a clear profile. From a once city cinema, it has consciously become a place for arthouse, film culture, and community experience. This transformation is one of the strongest reasons why the Odeon in Bamberg still has such a high recognition value today. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/odeon/))

Auditorium Structure, Foyer, and Cinema Experience

Today, the Odeon Cinema Bamberg, according to kinoheld, is a venue with 2 auditoriums and 305 seats. The current website consistently lists the screenings as Odeon 1 and Odeon 2, making the space usage very clear for guests. This two-auditorium structure is practical from a visitor's perspective because it simplifies the overview while keeping the venue compact. Unlike large multiplexes, orientation remains simple: a manageable venue, clear times, clearly named auditoriums, and a program that does not drift apart arbitrarily. For search terms like odeon cinema center or odeon cinema bamberg program, this measure is important because many users are not looking for a huge cinema landscape but for a well-organized place with atmosphere. The Odeon meets this expectation through size in the right measure and through a program structure that reflects both everyday life and events. ([kinoheld.de](https://www.kinoheld.de/kino/bamberg/odeon-kino/location?appView=1))

However, the cinema experience includes not only the auditoriums but also the surroundings. The official Bamberg tourism profile highlights the café in the spacious foyer and refers to the popular Mediterranean courtyard in summer. The operator's site adds to this description the exposed ceilings and the old structural cinema elements that were deliberately made visible after the reopening. This creates an ambiance that is both functional and characterful: One does not enter an interchangeable shell but a space where the cinema stay, encounters, and anticipation mix. For many guests, this is precisely the difference between a quick cinema appointment and an evening with potential for memories. The structure of the venue also supports different types of visitors: couples, families, regular guests, spontaneous cinema fans, or people who especially appreciate the foyer and courtyard as meeting points. The Odeon is thus not only a place where films are shown but a social and cultural space that significantly enhances the cinema visit in Bamberg. ([bamberg.info](https://www.bamberg.info/poi/kino_und_caf-odeon-4744/))

Original Versions, Children's Cinema, and Specials

An essential part of the Odeon brand is the specials and target group programs. The website features, among other things, Guest in the Cinema, Live in the Cinema, previews, festivals, Senior Cinema, children's cinema, and the sneak preview in OmU or OV. Additionally, there are particularly clear formats like the Creepy Sneak at the Odeon, which, according to the official site, always takes place on the first Tuesday of the month, as well as the sneak preview in OmU or OV, announced for the fourth Tuesday of the month. So, those searching for special formats or for odeon cinema today in a special sense will find more than just a standard schedule here. The venue curates experiences, surprises, and conversation starters, making it particularly attractive for repeat visits. The dedicated page for original versions also shows that the OmU and OV audience is firmly planned at the Odeon. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/odeon/))

For families and younger visitors, the Odeon is equally well-equipped. The children's cinema page shows current screenings in Odeon 1 and Odeon 2 and works with clear age ratings and recommendations, such as from 4, 6, or 8 years. This makes planning easy for parents, grandparents, and groups. Additionally, the venue's award page is noteworthy: The Odeon was awarded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture from 2003 to 2021 for outstanding annual film and children’s and youth film programs; in 2018, it received the honor of Best Children's and Youth Cinema in Germany for the year 2017. The Lichtspiel has also been awarded multiple times, underscoring the shared quality claim of the operator team. These awards are not just decoration on the wall but explain why the Odeon appears so often in search queries related to program, today, children's cinema, and original versions. It is a cinema that has built credibility over the years and thus plays a firm cultural role in the city. ([lichtspielkino.de](https://www.lichtspielkino.de/kids/))

Probably my favorite movie theater in the world. Cozy and old fashioned. The theaters are never packed and they have a nice tray/bar in front of the seats to put your snacks and drinks. Staff is always friendly and prices are reasonable.

Pretty cool location (café bar) in old school style. But too much devices and stuff on the bar itself. Cinema good. Selected film offer. Prices okay. Support this place! We can be glad to have it still. If you think about big competitors.

Cinema isn't that much big and they only play in German most of the time. English shows are very limited and hardly good movies are available on the schedule.
