Brewery Inn Kundmüller | Opening Hours & Beer Garden
The Brewery Inn Kundmüller at Weiher 13 in Viereth-Trunstadt is much more than a classic inn: here, family brewery, Franconian cuisine, beer garden, beer museum, guest rooms, and holiday apartments come together. The company looks back on a long history that dates back to 1782 as a family-run farm; the brewery itself was founded in 1874 and has since developed from a small village brewery into an award-winning Weiher beer world. Today, Roland and Oswald Kundmüller shape the house together, while visitors can experience the exact mix of craftsmanship and hospitality that the place is known for, between the guest room, beer garden, tours, and overnight solutions. Opening Hours, Kitchen, and Visit Planning
Anyone wishing to visit the Brewery Inn Kundmüller should keep a close eye on the opening hours, as the house combines restaurant, beer museum, brewery, and beverage market with slightly different time slots. The restaurant and the beer museum open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4 PM, Thursdays to Sundays already from 9 AM; Wednesdays are a day off. The warm kitchen starts on Mondays and Tuesdays at 5 PM and runs until 8:30 PM, while on Thursdays to Sundays it is available from 11 AM to 2 PM and again from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. Breakfast is only offered for overnight guests according to the website and is available daily from 8 AM to 10 AM; it can even be possible earlier upon request. ([brauerei-kundmueller.de](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.de/gasthof))
Practical planning also includes the in-house beverage market, which is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and closed on Sundays. This is an important point for guests who want to take Weiher beer, souvenirs, or rental items around the beer garden, as the return of furniture, empty barrels, mugs, and other rental items is only possible during these times. The official website also recommends considering not only the kitchen but also the open beer garden hours when visiting in summer, as reservations are not required there. Those planning a day trip or a weekend visit benefit from being able to combine several components on the premises: food, beer, museum, shopping, and, if necessary, an overnight stay. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/gasthof))
Beer Garden, Guest Room, and Franconian Cuisine
The beer garden is one of the strongest search reasons related to the Brewery Inn Kundmüller, and for good reason. On the official beer garden page, it is described as a place not only characterized by large, shade-giving chestnut trees but also by its location amidst nature and a rural idyll. In summer, the beer garden is open daily and can accommodate up to 250 guests, either in the shade of the trees or in sunnier spots. As early as 2005, the Weiher beer garden was awarded Beer Cellar of the Year, highlighting the location in the region's beer culture. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/gasthof/biergarten))
The guest room itself also has a clear identity: cozy, rustic, and authentic. The renovated guest room with historic ceiling beams creates a warm atmosphere for homemade, typically Franconian dishes and the beers from Weiher. The website also designates a bar parlor and event rooms as part of the house, making the Brewery Inn interesting not only for spontaneous visits but also for smaller celebrations and social gatherings. The culinary profile is complemented by the menu and the beer list, making the visit well-planned. The house positions itself as a destination for guests who are not just looking for a drink but a complete Franconian enjoyment experience with regionality, craftsmanship, and an uncomplicated atmosphere. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/gasthof))
Families with children also find good conditions here. The official job page explicitly mentions the beer garden, the beer museum, a children's playground, a petting zoo, guest rooms, and holiday apartments as part of the experience concept. This is particularly relevant for queries related to photos, family-friendliness, or a destination for multiple generations, as it shows that the establishment focuses not only on beer culture but also on the quality of stay for different target groups. So, those coming with children, friends, or extended family will find not only a beer garden with plenty of space but also an environment designed for longer stays and relaxed gatherings. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/jobs?utm_source=openai))
Open Brewery Tour, Beer Museum, and Events
A central highlight for visitors is the open brewery tour. It takes place from March to December on the first Friday of each month at 4:30 PM and does not require registration. The meeting point is the Weiher beer shop, which is the in-house beverage market. The tour lasts about an hour and costs 15 euros per person; included are a Seidla beer and a mug to take home. Those who want to experience the brewing process, logistics, and the interplay of production and hospitality directly will get a compact, well-organized insight into the house here. The website even recommends reserving a table in the restaurant if one wants to combine the visit with a meal. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/events/offene-brauereifuehrung-btnhs))
The beer museum is part of the inn concept and makes the location historically tangible. Seasonal dates and culinary events regularly appear in the own news and event calendar, including slaughter dishes, church fair slaughter dishes, and May Kerwa. Such entries are important for queries with terms like program, May Kerwa, or event, as they show that the Brewery Inn is not just a place for eating and drinking, but also a calendar with traditional festivals and special days. For visitors, this means: those who want to experience Franconian brewing culture not only by tasting but also throughout the year will find a lively meeting place with recurring dates instead of a purely static gastronomy. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/gasthof))
Additionally, the establishment organizes its communication strongly through events, news, and seasonal promotions. The website advertises monthly tours, beer experiences, and special holidays, making the place attractive for day guests as well as for returning regulars. Therefore, those looking for a specific date should not only check the menu but also the event overview. This is particularly relevant for guests who specifically want to come on a holiday, for an open tour, or for a culinary special weekend, as the atmosphere in the house then connects even more strongly with regional customs. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/gasthof))
Guest Rooms, Holiday Apartments, and Overnight Stays
The Brewery Inn Kundmüller is explicitly designed as a place to stay overnight. The website presents guest rooms and apartments as part of the offer, and the message is clear: here you can enjoy beer without having to drive home afterwards. This is an important advantage, especially for travelers planning a weekend in the Bamberg region or wanting to combine an event with an overnight stay. The combination of inn, guest house, and beer culture makes the location a small ensemble where eating, sleeping, and discovering are possible in one place. ([brauerei-kundmueller.de](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.de/gasthof))
The details about the holiday apartments are particularly concrete. As part of a comprehensive modernization, two new holiday apartments have been created, located above the guest house and offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. The so-called hops-and-malt apartments are 37 square meters in size and suitable for up to four people. Additionally, there are four more holiday apartments in the guest house and directly above the inn, which together can accommodate up to ten people. The mix of modern technology and rustic decor fits well with the overall impression of the house: authentic but not outdated. For longer stays, families, or small groups, this is a very attractive solution, as you do not have to leave after dinner and can start the day directly with breakfast. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/gaestehaus/ferienwohnungen))
The positioning in the text of the website is also interesting: the Brewery Inn explicitly speaks of relaxation, weekends, and vacations as a group. This shows that the overnight offers are not intended as a marginal product, but as an integrated part of the entire trip. For queries related to prices, overnight stays, or accommodation, not every rate is visible on the publicly accessible page, but the structure is clear: rooms, apartments, reservations, and a clear service approach are part of the location. So, those who want to stay in the region and at the same time value beer, Franconian cuisine, and short distances will find a very harmonious combination here. ([brauerei-kundmueller.de](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.de/gasthof))
History, Brewery, and Awards
The history of Kundmüller goes back a long way and is an essential part of the brand identity. The official chronicle describes the farm as family-owned since 1782. In 1874, Michael Bayer founded the brewery, followed by several generations with partly dramatic transitions, renovations, and reorientations. 1964 marked the turning point that shaped the current name: Anna married Erwin Kundmüller, and from 1969 they ran the Brewery Inn together. In 1989, Roland Kundmüller joined and introduced the Weiherer Bock, which remains one of the brand's well-known classics to this day. This long family history is not just a decorative detail but explains why the house continues to focus so strongly on continuity, craftsmanship, and regional roots. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/weiherer-bier/chronik?utm_source=openai))
The technical development is also remarkable. Since 2020, Kundmüller has been brewing in a new, energy-efficient, and innovative 60-hectoliter five-vessel brewhouse from Kaspar Schulz in Bamberg. According to the website, the system saves over 40 percent energy. In 2025, this commitment to climate and environmental protection was awarded the Climate Protection Prize from the Bamberg District Office and the Future Prize from the Chamber of Crafts for Upper Franconia in the category of energy-efficient sustainable craftsmanship. Additional components include the in-house bottling plant and a modern production process that combines traditional profiles with contemporary technology. This mix of brewing art, efficiency, and environmental awareness makes the location interesting for guests who are not only looking for good food but also a credible background. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/brauerei/die-brauerei))
The product and award list further underscores the claim. The brewery now produces over 30 varieties, including classics, specialty beers, non-alcoholic variants, as well as organic and international specialties. In 2025, Weiherer Rauch won gold at the World Beer Cup and was thus crowned world champion in its category; in 2025, the brewery was also named Brewery of the Year at the Finest Beer Selection after 15 beers achieved more than 90 out of 100 points. Together with historical awards such as Beer Cellar of the Year and international Beer Star successes, it shows an establishment that does not preserve tradition but continuously develops it. For SEO purposes, this is a strong mix of history, quality, and relevance to the present. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/news/2025/we-did-it-again-unser-weiherer-rauch-holt-gold-beim-world-beer-cup-und-ist-damit-weltmeister?utm_source=openai))
Directions, Contact, and Job Offers
For searching for maps, directions, or access, the contact page is the most important source. The Brewery Inn Kundmüller is located at Weiher 13, 96191 Viereth-Trunstadt. You can reach the house by phone at +49 (0) 9503 / 4338, the fax number is +49 (0) 9503 / 7868, and the general email address is info@kundmueller.de. Those looking for the location in map view have a clear, unambiguous address that is suitable for navigation, route planning, and reservation inquiries. This central contact data base is important, especially for guests who want to combine the brewery visit with an overnight stay or an event, as it allows for quick planning. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/kontakt))
As an employer, Kundmüller is also well-positioned. The official job page advertises positions in full-time, part-time, and mini-jobs, including service staff, bar staff, housekeepers, and kitchen helpers. In addition, a training position as a brewer/maltster will be offered starting September 1, 2026. For queries related to job offers, careers, or jobs at the Brewery Inn, this is a relevant point, as the establishment presents itself not only as a destination but also as a regional employer. The website highlights the family-like working atmosphere, a varied field of activity, and additional benefits, making the location also appear attractive from a personnel perspective. ([brauerei-kundmueller.com](https://www.brauerei-kundmueller.com/jobs?utm_source=openai))
In summary, this creates the image of a location that functions on multiple levels: as an inn for Franconian cuisine, as a beer garden with plenty of space, as a brewery location with tours, as a place to stay with apartments, and as an employer with clearly communicated opportunities. This complexity also explains why so many different search intentions lead to the same name. Those searching for opening hours, photos, prices, maps, reviews, events, or job offers do not land at Kundmüller with a single function but at a complete experience location with a strong regional character.
Busy weekend self service food and drink. Tried the local goat with gravy skip. Excited to try my childhood Krapfen, but they were not fresh or hot. Highlight was the Bamberg Mannerchoir. Rocked out 2 sets.

Absolute gem of a stay, especially if you are interested in beers and don't want to drive. The rooms are small, but cozy (we stayed at shared wc room, but there was nobody else on the floor, so it was quite comfortable). The food is great, the selection of beers is mind-blowing, the quality is great, and overall a fantastic place to stay for the night if you are in the middle of your trip. Highly recommended, would love to come back and explore more.

Oddly enough I was never hard-pressed to go to Weiher. I'd had some of their beer in bottles and thought they were decent enough but wrote them off. Mostly stopped as it was on the way to spend the night in Schlüsselfeld to check out Stern-Bräu. Well, it was amazing. The Biergarten looked great but weather was so-so. The interior was renovated but in a tasteful odd-world way. They had a lot of their beers on tap and all of the ones I tried were excellent including a dark wonder called Schwärzla and a more typical Dunkles called Stöfferla. I had a mixed meat plate that was fabulous, especially the homemade Dosenfeisch. I had a small pour of a very tasty IPA for dessert. My wife was a very understanding designated driver and wants to return to spend the night as they have rooms.
