A Production with a Special Venue

The text by Marec Bela Steffens and the direction by Maria Sebald transform the well-known fairy tale into a theatrical tour through Bamberg. The story begins at the Bamberg Puppet Theater, leads through the rooms of the New Residence and the court, and finds its fairy-tale happy ending in the rose garden.

Puppets, Atmosphere, and Acting Art

The artistically manipulated puppets open up their own visual language: every movement gains weight, and every glance becomes a small dramatic gesture. In the concentrated theatrical atmosphere, the stage design, historical architecture, and the fantasy of the fairy tale combine into a sensual overall experience. The acoustics of the performance venues and the transition between indoor spaces and garden give the production a special rhythm.

Dramaturgy for the Whole Family

With a duration of about 60 minutes and without an intermission, the dramaturgy remains entertaining and accessible. The story gently guides young spectators through tension, transformation, and redemption, while adults discover the craft precision of puppet theater and the connection of theatrical art and local history.
