Rock of Ages brings the Sunset Strip to Stegaurach
When the first guitar riffs resonate in the Bürgersaal Stegaurach, the gate to a dazzling rock world opens: The Artist Workshop e.V. presents the Broadway musical Rock of Ages by Chris D'Arienzo on stage. On October 9, 2026, the audience can expect an energetic production with more than 20 participants, live rock band, acting, dance, and singing.
Love, Dreams, and Rock’n’Roll
The story takes place in Los Angeles in the 1980s. On the legendary Sunset Strip, great career hopes, romantic feelings, and the fight to preserve a musical home collide. Amid colorful costumes, grand stage moments, and the feverish atmosphere of nightlife, a tale unfolds about love, loss, friendship, and the courage to believe in one’s dream.
Live Music with Iconic Rock Classics
The dramaturgy of this musical production thrives on its immediate stage experience. A live rock band accompanies the ensemble and gives the production its powerful, concert-like pulse. Rock classics can be heard from Journey, Twisted Sister, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, and Poison, among others. The acoustics, lighting design, and stage set meld into a rock show that transforms the Bürgersaal into an imaginary club on the Sunset Strip.
The Signature of the Artist Workshop
The Artist Workshop e.V. combines captivating acting with live singing, dance, and handcrafted music in its production. The artistic direction is by Dominik Rottler, and Georg Graefe is responsible for the stage design and lighting. This creates a performance where each scene feels like a new burst of amplification: colorful, fast-paced, and driven by the visible joy of play from the ensemble.
A Musical for Rock and Theater Fans
Rock of Ages is aimed at musical and rock fans aged 12 and over. The free seating creates an uncomplicated concert atmosphere, while the mix of strong emotions, humorous moments, and well-known rock anthems promises a diverse theater experience.
