Molière: Tartüff

We all have to save, but how? Orgon, a businessman in crisis, must teach his family, accustomed to luxury, that they are living beyond their means. But no one listens to him. Therefore, he brings Tartüff into the house, a preacher of self-denial and restraint, who mainly ensures that others tighten their belts. But the more Tartüff takes control in Orgon's household, the more resistance arises against the 'fun dampener'. Especially Elmire, Orgon's second wife, who feels cheated because she married money and now receives too little of it, soon recognizes the weaknesses of the household moralist and challenges Tartüff with her own weapons. – Molière's famous comedy about hypocrisy and seduction, prosperity and loss fits surprisingly well into our time.
