Poetry Slam at IMMERHIN: Bamberg Experiences an Evening Full of Linguistic Art

Poetry Slam at IMMERHIN: When Words Compete for Applause

On October 15, 2026, the IMMER HIN – Youth Cultural Meeting in Bamberg transforms into a stage for self-written texts, pointed thoughts, and immediate linguistic art. During the Poetry Slam, poets compete with their own contributions while the audience experiences the energy of this literary competition up close.

Self-Written Texts in Direct Competition

Poetry Slam combines literature and performance into a lively format. Poetry, short prose, spoken word, and personal stories meet voice, rhythm, and stage presence. Each text develops its own tension at the moment of performance and shows how immediate language can have an impact.

An Open Stage for New Voices

IMMERHIN offers space for poets who wish to present their self-written texts and participate in the competition. Registration is done via email at immerhin-slam@web.de. This creates an open, surprising reading atmosphere where different styles, themes, and linguistic perspectives meet.

Moderated by Manuel Hintermayr

Manuel Hintermayr guides the evening and provides the framework for the Poetry Slam. Between concentrated listening, spontaneous reaction, and lively applause, the author encounter becomes a literary experience. The closeness to the stage adds to the appeal of the format: literature does not remain on the page but speaks directly into the space.

Conclusion: Linguistic Art, Tension, and Real Stage Moments

Visitors can expect an energetic literary evening with self-written texts, different poetic voices, and the special pull of a live competition. Those who want to experience Poetry Slam as a modern form of linguistic art will find an open and inspiring evening at IMMERHIN. Admission is free.
