UNESCO World Heritage Day 2026

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the World Heritage Center Bamberg will participate in the nationwide UNESCO World Heritage Day. This year's action day is under the motto 'Together for Peace and Understanding' and invites visitors to discover the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bamberg from new perspectives. The focus will be on the question of what connections Bamberg shares with other World Heritage sites worldwide. International stories, personal insights, and cultural commonalities demonstrate how UNESCO World Heritage connects people and places across borders. The free program offers numerous activities for children, families, and adults – including guided tours, a World Heritage rally, a World Heritage quiz, craft and coloring activities, as well as musical contributions and summery cocktails from Bamberg's gardeners' city. The action day will conclude with a joint peace action at 5:00 PM.
