EUROPIA in Bamberg: Europe's Stories on the Screen

On November 14, 2026, the first EUROPIA Conference in Bamberg connects science, film, and literature. The focus will be on European narratives, social cohesion, and the question of which stories shape Europe's common future.

Film Program at Lichtspiel Cinema

Starting at 5:30 PM, the program will move to Lichtspiel – Cinema & Café. The evening will begin with the short films But I Never Asked by Nicole Humiński and A War I’ve Never Seen by Fariba Buchheim. Both works address memory and the confrontation with violence.

Film Discussion and European Culture of Remembrance

In the subsequent film discussion, the directors will discuss with Juliane Prade-Weiss about the culture of remembrance, cinematic storytelling, and Europe's handling of its past. The evening combines an open-air independent cinema atmosphere with focused exchange and European cultural debate.

Parliament, Award Ceremony, and Closing Party

Beginning at 7:00 PM, the first three episodes of the political comedy series Parliament by Noé Debré will be on the program. The conclusion will include the presentation of the Pitch Awards and a party that ends the conference and film festival in a convivial atmosphere.

A Festival for New European Narratives
