The exhibition "Hybrid Beings" is dedicated to hybrid figures and the fascinating transitions between human, animal, and fantasy. Central to the exhibition are beings that escape clear categories, thereby raising questions about identity, transformation, and the limits of the imaginable.
The exhibition can be seen from October 18, 2026 to January 31, 2027 in Bamberg. Visitors can look forward to an artistic exploration of border areas where the familiar and the foreign, reality and fantasy are interconnected. The term "Hybrid Beings" refers to figures and ideas that unite multiple characteristics or realms of life.
Between Human, Animal, and Fantasy
Hybrid forms have accompanied cultural history for a long time and inspire thinking beyond familiar notions. The exhibition addresses this theme and focuses on intermediate forms: beings that are not entirely human, animal, or pure fantasy, but combine elements from various areas.
"Hybrid Beings" invites viewers to consider the depicted figures openly and develop their own associations. It is precisely the transitions and contradictions that make the topic particularly intriguing. The exhibition is aimed at anyone interested in art, fantastic imagery, and unusual perspectives on human and animal forms.
