Blues, Funk and Groove: The Global Blues Resistance live in Bamberg
On Friday, November 6, 2026, The Global Blues Resistance will transform the Jazzkeller Bamberg into a powerful refuge for handmade music. Starting at 8:00 PM, a well-rehearsed quartet from Nuremberg will meet the raw energy of blues, the pulsating funk, and a groove that hits directly in the legs.
Guitar solos meet Hammond sound
Peter Pelzner leads the ensemble with virtuoso guitar and striking solos through a program that balances blues tradition and modern stage performance. Julia Fischer brings the characteristic Hammond sound to the stage on the Leslie organ and sings duets with Pelzner. Ferdinand Roscher lays the stable foundation on bass, while Simon Froschauer drives the rhythmic synchronization forward with dynamic energy on drums.
Between The Meters, Ray Charles, and Freddie King
The setlist combines instrumental classics and original compositions. Influences from The Meters, Ray Charles, and Freddie King create the musical resonance space for a show where blues phrasing, funk accents, and grooving improvisation intertwine. The orchestration remains deliberately organic: guitar, organ, bass, and drums develop a sound that is earthy, mobile, and immediate.
Intimate live atmosphere in the Jazzkeller
The Jazzkeller Bamberg at Obere Sandstraße 18 creates the perfect setting for this concert experience. The proximity to the stage makes every nuance audible – from the buoyant bass line to the powerful direction of the drums to the bright tones of the organ and the passionate guitar lines. In this concentrated audience atmosphere, the blues unfolds its full physical effect.
