Virtuoso sound acrobatics with humor at STIL.Bruch
On Friday, October 9, 2026, Joschi Joachimsthaler and Philip Kranz will transform STIL.Bruch in Bamberg into a stage for spontaneous, playful, and surprising instrumental music. Admission is free, and the concert evening begins at 21:00.
When guitar and piano spark
Joschi Joachimsthaler on guitar and Philip Kranz on piano present new and older original compositions, classics from their earlier time as Flinkfingro Duo, as well as uniquely interpreted cover songs. Their repertoire spans swing, Latin, fusion, and striking moments from 50 years of pop history.
Virtuoso, spontaneous, and guaranteed not too serious
The focus is on the immediate live atmosphere: precise synchronization, surprising twists, and a sound that showcases as much joy in playing as technical skill. Finger acrobatics meet musical humor as the two musicians spice up their stage performance with spontaneous ideas and a charming wink.
Guitar colors meet piano dynamics
Joachimsthaler is connected as a live and studio guitarist with artists such as Eric Martin from Mr. Big, Sir Waldo Weathers, Freedom Call, Benny Greb, and Karin Rabhansl. He also worked with Carlos Reisch's funk-jazz big band and was involved in productions for Native Instruments. This stylistic openness also characterizes the duo: jazzy harmonies, Latin grooves, and pop historical motifs come together in varying orchestrations.
A concert evening without fixed musical categories
The most important principle of the duo is: they play what they feel like on that evening. It is this spontaneity that creates a concert experience filled with surprises, lively audience atmosphere, and a special closeness between stage and hall. Anyone who wants to experience instrumental music with entertainment, spontaneity, and craftsmanship will find the perfect evening at STIL.Bruch.
Conclusion: The audience can expect a free duo concert blending swing, Latin, fusion, pop references, and humorous stage performance. Come to STIL.Bruch and experience Joschi Joachimsthaler and Philip Kranz live, as guitar and piano write their own rules.
