Harmonic Brass brings Powerplay to Bamberg

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Bamberger St. Stephen's Church will transform into a resonance chamber for brilliant brass sound and imposing organ music. Harmonic Brass, together with Dean Cantor Michael Goos, presents the program Powerplay – Brass and Organ.

Virtuosity meets sacred space

Since 1991, Harmonic Brass has stood for elegant, powerful ensemble sound and an internationally celebrated stage performance. Guest appearances at Carnegie Hall New York, Arts Center Seoul, Endler Hall Cape Town, and Gewandhaus Leipzig characterize the history of the Munich brass quintet. Around 120 concerts per year take the musicians around the globe.

A musical competition in a thousand colors

In Bamberg, five outstanding brass players meet the organ of Dean Cantor Michael Goos. The program thrives on the interplay of gleaming trumpets, warm horn, distinctive trombone, sonorous tuba, and the powerful foundation of the organ. Precise synchronization, dynamic soundscapes, and the special acoustics of the church promise an impressive concert experience.

Harmonic Brass between classic and modern concert dramaturgy

The ensemble combines classical works, its own arrangements, and characteristic moderation into a varied live program. The combination of brass quintet and organ opens up an extraordinary sound perspective: sometimes festive and monumental, sometimes dance-like, surprising, and full of fine chamber music details.

Audience proximity and international experience

The Süddeutsche Zeitung praised Harmonic Brass as a quintet that, with its glamorous-virtuosic style, is among the best in the world. This mix of musical expertise, joy of playing, and direct audience engagement makes the ensemble's performances special moments in the concert calendar.

Conclusion: Experience brass sound live

Powerplay promises a Sunday evening full of energy, colors, and architectural resonance. Those who want to experience Harmonic Brass together with Michael Goos in the St. Stephen's Church should mark this concert in Bamberg and let the music impact them live.
